March 15, 2027: BOE Candidate Petitions and Packet with Meet the Candidate Information and instructions for biography available (47 signatures, which is 2% of voters in the previous annual election). Mail interest letters to poll workers.
March 22, 2027 Budget Workshop: Present final budget for adoption, Property Tax Report Card presented for BOE adoption. Approval of Annual Meeting Resolution.
March 2027: BOCES Service Visit
March 25, 2027 Legal notice of school budget hearing and budget vote must be advertised four times within seven weeks of the vote, with the first publication at least 45 days before the budget date of budget vote. Post Standard and Star Review
April 19, 2027: BOCES Annual Administrative Budget Vote
April 19, 2027: Deadline for submission of petitions for nominations of BOE candidates. Inform candidates of legal requirements for all candidates for election to the Board of Education to file sworn statements of campaign contributions and distribute informational material. First sworn statement to be filed with the District Clerk and Commissioner of Education thirty days prior to vote date.
April 20, 2027: Drawing by District Clerk for determination of order for listing Board candidates on ballot and voting machine at Noon.
April 26, 2027: Final date for the adoption of the property tax report card by the Board of Education. Distribute military ballots no later than 25 days before the budget vote.
April 27, 2027: Property tax report card is due to NYSED no later than this date or within 24 hours of BOE adoption of the budget.
April 27 - May 11, 2027: The District Clerk must mail an absentee ballot for every qualified voter who requests one. The ballot must be mailed no earlier than 30 days or later than 7 days prior to the election day. The District Clerk must maintain a list of the names of all individuals provided with absentee ballots. The list is subject to public inspection and legal challenge until the day of election.
April 29, 2027: Budget Statement and required attachments must be made available, upon request, at each school building and at the district office, public library, and on the district’s Web site at least seven days before Budget Hearing date and at least 14 days before the Budget Vote.
May 6, 2027: Budget Public Hearing 5:30 p.m.
May 7 - May 12, 2027: Mail budget notice to eligible voters after the Budget Hearing but no later than 6 days prior to Budget Vote day
May 18, 2027: Budget Vote
June 15, 2027: Statewide Budget Revote Day
July 1, 2027: Purchase orders sent out for the 2027-28 school year.
